Wednesday 05 July 2017....7pm to 11pm...
WARNER MUSIC & GQ SUMMER DRINKS PARTY, Nobu Hotel,Shoreditch,London EC2.
Over 500 guests at this party at this newly opened Nobu Hotel.
The Nobu Hotel Shoreditch follows on from their famous site near The Hilton Hotel,Park Lane.
It promises to embrace London’s “artistic quarter” by recognising and utilising the “creative and industrial energy” of Shoreditch. While the Nobu Hotel is a first of its kind for the UK, there are already two restaurants in the capital.
Of course, co-founder of Nobu, Robert De Niro, is no stranger to the London hotel scene. Just last year, the celebrity entrepreneur, who provides Nobu with “creative direction”, won approval to open an 83-room luxury boutique hotel in Covent Garden for a separate business.
At one end of the bar is a huge outdoor area and at the other end is the dj and dance floor.
It was very busy and lively.
I have been to this party a couple of times before and it does not attract their older acts on the label
but more the younger acts on the label.
Guests included Myleene Klass, all of Busted,Brix Smith Start,Jodie Harsh,Charli XCX,
Henry Holland,Alex Zane,Grace from Clean Bandit,Emma Willis, Gizzi Erskine,Dua Lipa,
Dougie Poynter,Jamie Winstone,Nicola Roberts from Girls Aloud,
GQ editor Dylan Jones, Alan Edwards Head of Outside Org pr,Laura Whitmore and others.
Complimentary presecco,a choice of three different cocktails, tequila shots, wines and beers.
Some top notch canapés from Nobu's famed kitchen but there is not enough to around this big crowd.
It was still going strong at 11pm when i departed.

Tuesday 04 July 2017...I went to three events tonight...

HAAGEN-DAZS x BJORN BORG - launch party - Bjorn Borg ,15-19 Great Titchfield Street,London W1.
Fresh from a brand retune, Häagen-Dazs is weaving its updated positioning into its ongoing
Wimbledon sponsorship, inking a deal with Swedish fashion brand Björn Borg.
The sports fashion brand, best known for its underwear, has collaborated with the luxury ice cream company to create the bespoke packaging for Häagen-Dazs' strawberries and cream range.
The bright illustrations featured on the packaging were inspired by Björn Borg's roots in tennis, having taken its name from the Swedish former world number one champion of the same name.
Häagen-Dazs signed a five-year sponsorship deal with Wimbledon in 2016, kicking proceedings off with an Instagram campaign which captured reaction from the Centre Court during the tournament.
As part of the latest deal, Björn Borg and Häagen-Dazs will host a summer tennis pop-up at the brand’s fashion showroom in Oxford Circus from the 5 to the 7 July to bring the collaboration to life. Visitors will be able to purchase products from the fashion brand, while Häagen-Dazs' will be dishing out free until 6pm daily...
Is it available to purchase at Wimbledon and on Amazon Prime Now and Sainsbury's until the end of July.
This store is located a few minutes North of Oxford Circus tube.
The guests including TV & Radio Presenter Olivia Cox Model Felicity Hayward and
web influencers The Wade Twins.

LINKIN PARK live at Brixton Academy,London.
Nu-metal pioneers Linkin Park play an intimate show here the day after their 02 Arena show.
Linkin Park are on a world tour to promote their new album 'One More Light'.
Seventh album ' One More Light', is a more electronic and pop-oriented record, was released May 2017.
The new album has been getting some dodgy reviews for being 'too poppy'.
Their classic debut album from 2000 'Hybrid Theory' has sold over 15 million copies.
They have sold over 70 million albums worldwide in their career.
They have had several Top 20 singles in the UK.
I have seen them a few times in the past 15 years.
They are one of the biggest live rock bands around the world.
It is hot and sweaty in here tonight and plus because of the earlier events I attended i must be the only person
in the venue wearing a suit....I must be one of the oldest ones here too...
LINKIN PARK are on stage for around 2 hours 5 mins.
Lots of lights in the stage production and like previous tours there are podiums at the front of stage.
There are no big screens but they are filming it for something down the line.
I would imagine most fans are here for the old classics rather than the new album.
It is to their undoubted credit that they have reinvented themselves in this manner while maintaining a ferociously loyal following and losing none of the primal intensity of their live show. Tonight’s opening track, 'Talking to Myself' is a sleek Justin Bieber-style pop-R&B nugget, but flailing singer Chester Bennington, a blur of muscle and tattoos, still delivers it as if bleeding every word.
In a long show there were lulls but the crunching anthems from their debut album still sound mega.
'One Step Closer' was great and then UK Grime star Stormzy joined them for a track.
The drum sound was a bit muffled at times or maybe that was just where i was standing.
Chester Bennington went down to touch hands with the crowd down the front during a couple of songs
including a brilliant piano based version of the anthemic 'Crawling'.
Encores included big hitters 'Numb','Papercut' and 'Faint'.
A great show.
Full setlist played tonight...

Tuesday 04 July 2017.
Tony Hadley has left Spandau Ballet.
The split was announced by Hadley with a simple statement:
''Due to circumstances beyond my control, it is with deep regret that I am no longer a member of the band
Spandau Ballet and as such I will not be performing with the band in the future".
Spandau re-united for a couple of big tours even though they fell out big time over songwriting payments.
Tony Hadley is doing pretty well as a solo artist as he can headline The Royal Albert Hall.

Monday 03 July 2017...I went to three events today...
3pm to 5pm

Major showcase for the drinks industry with over 5000 visitors per day.
Over 100 stands with spirits, wines, beers, ciders etc.

It got a bit hot and stuffy inside so my fave area was outside in the sunshine where

Chairman's Reserve Rum had some nice drinks.
The just in the shops Jack Daniels Tennessee Cider are here.
My faves inside included...
Westerhall Estate Rum.
Dead Man's Fingers Rum.

Loads of stunning paintings here for their Old Master Sculpture & Works Of Art.
Our faves were those of Venice and Berlin which have not changed much over centuries.
A big crowd of around 500 smartly dressed folks here.
The male and female serving staff were all models.
Complimentary Sotheby's champers,three different cocktails,canapés,strawberries & cream.
www.sothebys.comVisit the a Sotheby's website here for more info.
9pm to 11.30pm

Very buzzy here with a dj playing and complimentary Laurent Perrier champers, different cocktails,
wines,beers and canapés.
It was still very lively when i departed...not sure how they managed to stay open so late...

KC AND THE SUNSHINE BAND live at Koko,London.
KC and The Sunshine Band play Koko as part of their first UK shows for 18 years.
The group was formed in 1973 by Harry Wayne Casey (KC) who still heads the band.
In the UK they had 10 Top 40 hits in the 1970s/1980s including a number one with 'Give It Up' in 1983.
They never toured the UK much and i have never seen them live before.
After two massive outdoor gigs in a park it was nice to be in a proper live music venue.
I first came here in 1977 when it was called The Music Machine.
In 1978 i saw The Clash and Motörhead amongst others play here.
At 8pm a dj on stage plays great disco tunes for an hour to get the crowd in party mood so tracks by
Chic, Earth Wind & Fire, McFadden & Whitehead etc get everyone dancing.
KC AND THE SUNSHINE BAND take the stage at 9.05pm and play for 1 hour 55 mins.
Incredibly they have brought their full American touring entourage with them so there are
15 people on stage including a four piece brass section and four female dancers.
Even more incredible was how KC at aged 66 was so nimble on his feet.
He may be a slightly overweight white man but thanks to his radio facial microphone he sweated
his nuts off as he got stuck into the dance routines with his dancers.
The effort he puts in he should be as slim as Mick Jagger.
KC also did a few outfit changes.
Plenty of fun stage banter from KC...sometimes a bit too much.
Loads of their classic disco dance hits played along with a few soul covers and a few new tracks.
A really entertaining & enjoyable show.
Highlights included...
Shake Shake Shake (Shake Your Booty)
Boogie Shoes
Sound Your Funky Horn
Please Don't Go
I'm Your Boogie Man
Rock Your Baby ( KC wrote this massive 70s hit for George McCrae that sold 11 million copies)
Queen Of Clubs
Give It Up
That's The Way (I Like It)
Get Down Tonight

Sunday 02 July 2017.
Sir Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster renewed their wedding vows at a 'star-studded ceremony at home' this weekend to mark their tenth anniversary, with Stewart's former Faces bandmates Ronnie Wood and Kenney Jones among guests, as well as Lancaster's former Strictly partner Ian Waite. The couple gave their fee for Hello! magazine's coverage of the party to victims of the Grenfell Tower tragedy.

GREEN DAY + THE STRANGLERS + RANCID live in Hyde Park,London.
I have seen Green Day several times before with the first time being at Brixton Academy in 1995.
I have seen The Stranglers over 20 times since 1976 when they supported Patti Smith.
I have seen Rancid twice before with the first time being at Reading Festival in 2001.
Another massive crowd here in Hyde Park and thankfully another perfect sunny day.
RANCID arrived on the main stage at 6pm and played for 60 mins.
Rancid are a ska tinged punk band from California.
They played tracks from through their career and a few from their recent ninth studio album, 'Trouble Maker'.
All the band are covered in tattoos including on their bald heads, cheeks, necks etc.
Each song is dedicated to someone they like...or hate.
They played loads of short uptempo gems including 'Time Bomb' and 'Ruby Soho' in a good set.
THE STRANGLERS arrived on a smaller stage at 7pm and played for 45 mins.
They draw a huge crowd of older punks to their short set.
'The Men In Black' are dressed all in black.
Jean Jaques on rumbling bass is great as usual.
The hits heavy set was really good.
Setlist played tonight...
Five Minutes
(Get a) Grip (On Yourself)
Nice 'n' Sleazy
Golden Brown
Bear Cage
Hanging Around
Something Better Change
No More Heroes
GREEN DAY arrived on stage at 8pm and played for a nice long 2 hours 30 mins.
Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong urged fans “rock and roll music can change the world” as he hit out at
US president Donald Trump during their headline performance in Hyde Park.
The lively frontman invited three fans on stage, led raucous sing-a-longs and hosed the crowd
with water during a whirlwind and nostalgia-tinged set.
As he thanked the 60,000-strong crowd for supporting the band throughout their 30-year career,
Armstrong said he “doesn’t need any politicians telling me what to think”.
From the first song it was all systems go as they got the first of three fans on stage.
Energy levels from Billie Joe remained stratospheric throughout the show.
He knows exactly what to say to the crowd to hype them up.
The wraparound big screen was great and the band had plenty of flames, pyros and lights.
Green Day remain a top live draw as they are one of those bands that blow you away live and then
you make sure you see them again the next time they come to town.
As usual Billie Joe asks those at the front "who can play three chords on the guitar?" and
200 eager teenage hands go up....a girl goes up and does a decent job...and gets to keep the guitar.
Mind you not half as good as the female fan singer a few songs earlier who took over the stage.
Green Day played a hits heavy set that the crowd loved.
Needless to say the front of stage is a pit of heaving moshing bodies.
Green Day are always great live.
Full Green Day setlist played tonight...

Saturday 01 July 2017.
The classic Sex Pistols track 'Pretty Vacant' was released 40 years today in 1977.
Stills of me at The Sex Pistols - Notre Dame Hall gig in 1976 were used in the promo poster for it.
The same still is also on the cover of the New Zealand release of 'Pretty Vacant'.
I have a nice counterfeit copy of it but an original is worth over £500.

Saturday 01 July 2017.
Happy Birthday to Debbie Harry who is 72 today.

Saturday 01 July 2017.
Sad news that BBC tv film critic Barry Norman has passed away aged 83.
Barry Leslie Norman, CBE was a British film critic, writer and media personality. He was best known for presenting Film… on BBC One from 1972 to 1998, the programme's longest-running host.

Friday 30 June 2017
I have seen Phil Collins,Genesis and Blondie many times over the past 40 years.
I have seen both Phil Collins and Blondie earlier this year.
www.bst-hydepark.comBuy tickets here for BST Hyde Park shows.
As some of you I am not a big lover of massive outdoor gigs these days as they can be hard work
for older folks like me.
The stage is in the distance ,you stand up for hours and you worry where the nearest toilets are.
Bands should be seen in a darkened theatre and not broad daylight.
As far as I am concerned all bands are better seen indoors than outside.
However Hyde Park is a great location for me so we head into the huge 50,000 plus crowd.
Also you can see up to half a dozen good bands all in the same place.
THE NEW POWER GENERATION were on a smaller stage from 6.15pm for 45 mins.
The New Power Generation, also known as The NPG, was the backing band of musician Prince. They first came about around 1990 and were last active in 2013 before Prince made a return to music with 3rdeyegirl as his backing band.
In 2015, the New Power Generation reunited as Prince's backing band for his final studio album
before his death, Hit n Run Phase Two.
They still feature some of the original members.
A great funky set of Prince classics played by them which ended with a superb 'Purple Rain'.
BLONDIE were on the main stage from 7pm and played for 60 mins.
The wraparound big screen here on the main stage is always pretty stunning.
For the first three or four songs Debbie is wearing crazy headwear and the T-shirt she wore at The Roundhouse.
The T-shirt she wore, made by designer friends Vin and Omi, read: “Stop Fucking The Planet.”
Credit to Blondie who could have opted to play an all hits festival set to please the Phil Collins fans but they
managed to squeeze in a few songs from their recent 'Pollinator' album.
Clem Burke on drums was fantastic as usual...always good to watch Blondie live...
Another odd thing about festivals...why do people spend big money on a ticket then pay to go on funfair rides
while the main bands are playing?
While Blondie were on folks were queuing for reverse bungee jump and even for Phil Collins folks
were queuing for an Ariel swing ride.
Full Blondie setlist played tonight...
One Way or Another
Hanging on the Telephone (The Nerves cover)
Call Me
Rapture (coda of "(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party!)" by the Beastie Boys)
Fragments (an Unkindness cover)
Long Time
Too Much
Heart of Glass
PHIL COLLINS arrived on stage at 8.45pm and played for 90 mins.
This meant it was a full 45 mins shorter than The Royal Albert Hall show i saw earlier this month.
The Royal Albert Hall shows had 22 songs and tonight only 14 songs...quite a difference...
The reason could be to focus on the big hits or maybe it is due to his obvious health problems
where he still has to sit on a stool for all of the main set due to back and leg problems.
Also RAH was over two sets and you cannot really do that at this venue.
Around halfway through it got darker and the wraparound screen visuals looked mega
as his biggest hits kicked in.
'In The Air Tonight' was a highlight again due to the moody red lighting.
An enjoyable show but not as mega as The Royal Albert Hall shows I saw.
A good trio of live bands seen though on the same evening.
Full Phil Collins setlist played tonight...
Something Happened on the Way to Heaven
Wake Up Call
Follow You Follow Me (Genesis song)
I Missed Again
Hang in Long Enough
Separate Lives (Stephen Bishop cover)
In the Air Tonight
You Can't Hurry Love (The Supremes cover)
Dance Into the Light
Invisible Touch (Genesis song)

Newlywed Arizona Muse and actresses Ella Purnell and Ellie Bamber led the fashion stakes as they paid homage to host Chanel wearing designs hot off the catwalk. Meanwhile, Grayson Perry was predictably flamboyant as he joined Laura Bailey, Erin O'Connor, Alice Dellal, Edie Campbell and Mario Testino at the Kensington Gardens party. Brooklyn Beckham and Princess Eugenie continued their week of non-stop social events, with Beckham taking a break from his book promotion to admire Diébédo Francis Kéré's Serpentine Pavilion. Rita was dressed head to toe in clothes and jewellery from tonight's sponsor CHANEL.
CHARLIE XCX joined her for the last two songs.
JAMIE XX was the dj after the live set by Rita Ora.
Complimentary Laurent Perrier champers ,different cocktails and wines.
Not as much food as previous years but we had a two course dinner in Coco's pop up restaurant.
This only held 50 or 60 so soon got booked up so many guests never had any food whatsoever.
Desserts of strawberries covered in chocolate were at a couple of the bars.
Needless to say a mega evening.
This means i have done 'the big three' summer parties both this year and last year.

RADIO ALICE PIZZERIA - press opening - 67 Venn Street,Clapham,London.
Traditional sourdough pizzeria called Radio Alice is coming to Clapham, tucked away on
picturesque Venn Street, just around the corner from north end of Clapham Common.
It's the second Radio Alice in London, coming fairly soon after the first opening in Hoxton. As before, Italian brothers Matteo and Salvatore Aloe will be whipping up their special sourdough pizzas using top notch dough, made with type 1 organic flour and wild yeast before being fermented for a full 24 hours. You can expect toppings are of the classic and simple variety, and Italian where possible. And, as before, lots of these toppings are added after the pizza comes out of the oven.
The Gold Coin Campaign will give guests at both Hoxton and Clapham branches of the pizzeria the chance to buy any second pizza for £1 between June 26 and the end of July. All proceeds from this will be donated to Libera Terra, a co-operative who produce organic wine in Sicily on land liberated from mafia control.
We had an enjoyable three courses here...starters then full size pizza (pork sausage) with sides...
and a really yummy dessert with coffee poured over vanilla ice-cream...a nice vibe here with good food...
JACKSON BROWNE live at The Royal Albert Hall,London.
Jackson Browne plays the second of two shows at The Royal Albert Hall on his UK tour.
I saw Jackson Browne seven times at Hammersmith Odeon in the 1980s when I worked front stage security.
I have seen him a couple of times at The Royal Albert Hall over the past decade.
Jackson Browne now aged 68 was a massive act in America & The UK in the 1970s and 1980s.
He has sold over 20 million albums worldwide.
JACKSON BROWNE plays a lengthy show as he is on stage for 2 hours 45 mins over two sets of
65 mins and 100 mins.
Jackson still looks great for his age as he still has his foppish hairstyle.
Jackson was backed by a top notch band including some nice pedal steel guitar.
Jackson played piano on a few tracks.
He had some nice friendly laid back stage banter with the crowd.
Some of the songs sounded a bit samey as they were the same acoustic type pace and it only got really
lively later on for the last 20 mins when some of his most well known songs were played.
An enjoyable show overall.

Saturday 24 June 2017.
JEFF LYNNE'S ELO + TOM CHAPLIN live at Wembley Stadium,London.
Jeff Lynne returns to the UK after the huge success of his UK arena comeback tour in 2016.
This show was announced after his Glastonbury Festival 2016 performance...a full year ago..
ELO were very successful in the 1970s and 1980s with many hit singles and hit albums.
During ELO's original 13-year period of active recording and touring, they sold over 50 million records worldwide.
I saw ELO in 1976 and 1978 (one of their eight shows at Wembley Arena) and a warm up show in 2016
at the 500 capacity show at Porchester Hall, London.
In 1978 the band set out on a nine-month, 92-date world tour, with an enormous set and a hugely expensive space ship stage with fog machines and a laser display. The band played at London's Wembley Arena for eight straight sold-out nights during the tour, a record at that time.
During 1979 Jeff Lynne also turned down an invitation for ELO to headline the August 1979
Knebworth Festival concerts. That allowed Led Zeppelin the chance to headline instead.
Jeff Lynne has handled production work on many albums over the years including co-producing solo
albums by George Harrison,Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr.
Jeff was also in all-star band The Traveling Wilburys.
The venue is not sold out but has be at least 95% sold which is impressive considering most of the seats
on the floor and the first level are a whopping £125 and £110.
TOM CHAPLIN (ex singer of Keane) arrives on stage at 7.15pm for plays for 40 mins.
Tom looks a bit silly in a garish gold and silver sparkly jacket.
He has been given the big side screens to use.
His solo album tracks are a bit average but good to hear a couple of those Keane hits.
Full setlist played tonight...
Still Waiting
Hardened Heart
The River
Silenced by the Night (Keane song)
Hold On to Our Love
Somewhere Only We Know (Keane song)
Bedshaped (Keane song)
See It So Clear
During the interval I spend 30 mins in the Bobby Moore Club Wembley area right of stage.
For this show it is named 'Balance of Power' hospitality.
Incredibly around 300 folks have paid £500 which includes best seats and food and drink for 6 hours.
I sit down for a meal and have a couple of drinks.
I also bring out a couple of drinks to have during the show.
Each guest gets a comp £15 tour programme so i got a couple of those.
Before Jeff Lynne comes on there is an announcement that tonight is being recorded for a live DVD.
There was also a helicopter getting some nice ariel views.
JEFF LYNNE'S ELO arrive on stage at 8.35pm and play for 1 hour 50 mins.
Jeff said his long time band member Richard Tandy was ill so would not be doing these UK shows.
They are not your typical stadium band like The Stones or Foo Fighters but they make up for that
with a stunning stage production that has a spaceship at the top of the stage and loads of
big screens showing live footage and great computer images along with a barrage of lights and lasers.
For the encore there was flames and fireworks.
After an hour it got darker and the stage show looked even better.
Loads of their great catchy radio friendly singalong hits played as the crowd danced away.
A great show.

Saturday 24 June 2017.
Ten years ago this weekend i was at these mega gigs.
24 June 2007 --- Aerosmith + Chris Cornell - Hyde Park,London.
26 June 2007 --- Aerosmith + Chris Cornell - Marlay Park,Dublin.

Friday 23 June 2017.
KRAFTWERK live at The Royal Albert Hall,London.
Kraftwerk play the last of three sold out shows at this venue on their UK tour.
I went yesterday and am back again tonight.
I saw comedian Frank Skinner going in.
KRAFTWERK again start dead on 8pm for another 2 hours 15 mins set.
I use my 3D glasses off and on during the show...don't really notice the difference.
As expected the setlist and show is exactly the same.
Scroll down for the full setlist.
Again it is pretty much half the show is good and the other half a bit average.
It is more like watching an art film with synths playing the soundtrack in the background.
Great to hear 'The Model' and 'Autobahn' again.
Also good were 'Tour de France' (with lots of old good black n white video footage of the cycling)
and 'Trans Europe Express'.
Some other synth instrumentals plodded along in an average way.
A good show in parts.
I must say a word about the bootleg t-shirt sellers at this venue at the end of the show.
They have upped their game as all the t-shirts feature The Royal Albert Hall design logo.

Friday 23 June 2017.
Sex Pistol guitarist Steve Jones to get Hollywood Walk Of Fame star in the Radio category...
Congratulations Steve!
Steve: “I love my job and I love doing it two hours a day. Very grateful to
The Hollywood Chamber Of Commerce and The Walk Of Fame Selection Committee.”

Thursday 22 June 2017.
KRAFTWERK live at The Royal Albert Hall,London.
Kraftwerk play the second of three sold out shows at The Royal Albert Hall.
Kraftwerk played eight shows at The Tate Modern in 2013 but these shows are part of their
first full UK tour for over a decade.
I saw them play at Hammersmith Odeon on their debut UK tour in 1975 and again in 1981.
German synth pioneers are down to one original member these days.
On May 26, the band released 8-CD and 9-LP sets of their last world tour, but the real gem will be the 4-disc Blu-Ray set which was filmed in high definition 3D and will be viewable in both 3D and 2D. Two-discs have the concerts while the other two contain tour films and concert projections. That special edition will also include a 228-page book with photos from throughout the shows.
I must admit when i saw Kraftwerk in 1975 as a 16 year old I was not that impressed.
I was too much into guitars and bands and four German blokes standing static behind keyboards
seemed more like a weird gimmick from 1970s pop svengali Jonathan King than a serious music project.
These days they are highly regarded by the British press and always get great reviews.
As you take your seat everyone is given a pair of 3D glasses to use for a certain few songs in the show.
I do not use mine at all....maybe I will put them on at Fridays show...
KRAFTWERK arrive on stage at 8pm and play for 2 hours 15 mins.
The curtain pulls away and the four musicians take their positions behind their keyboard podiums.
We have a big screen showing great graphics and some of the lyrics to the songs.
Some neon strips of lighting but not much else.
It was one of those shows were half of it was good but the other half was pretty average.
It was great to hear gems like 'The Model' and 'Autobahn' but some of the tracks just plodded a bit.
They were dance pioneers but the audience just sat and watched and only a few actually got up and danced.
Some songs have lyrics but they are as simple as you can get and Ralf's vocals are unremarkable.
For the first encore 'The Robots' they were actually replaced by four Robots on stage.
The sound was the same which made me wonder how much of the show was just tapes.
So a good show in parts but some of the tracks were not that exciting.
For half of the show I wish i was back watching Phil Collins at this venue.
Full Kraftwerk setlist played tonight...

We have a bagpiper welcoming us as we arrive.
My first time inside this historic club that was founded back in 1891.
Around 100 guests in their garden area in the sunshine.
Many old boys from Scotland are working here.
A little bit of Scotland in the Heart of London for Scotsman living in London was its original purpose.
The building is one of those magnificent Grade II listed buildings in this Embassy heavy area.
They have eight different private areas for hire.
Guests enjoyed Pimms, wines and bowl food including haggis.
All guests got a goodie bag that included 12 year old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

V & A SUMMER PARTY - Victoria & Albert Museum,Cromwell Road,South Kensington,London SW7.
Over 500 folks at this major event that was held mainly in the John Madejski Garden at the back.
This is one of the 'big three' summer parties in London...I went to all three last year.
Like last year Harrods have sponsored all the food and drinks so complimentary Harrods champers,
different cocktails, wines and lots of nice food including lobster rolls ,salmon, canapés,cheeses, desserts.
Guests included Nick Mason (Pink Floyd) and Gary Kemp (Spandau Ballet).
Bianca Jagger(with a walking stick) and Nick Rhodes from Duran Duran were here.
Also 70s and 80s man about town Philip Sallon...and comedian Rory Bremner...
Elizabeth Hurley, Ellie Bamber, Samantha Cameron and Alexandra Shulman welcomed summer in style as they attended The V&A's annual fundraiser, where Alice Dellal, Alice Naylor-Leyland, Erin O'Connor and Neelam Gill donned flowery summery dresses. Back from Royal Ascot, royals and socialites Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, Donna Air and Lady Violet Manners also headed to the benefit, joining leading figures in the art and fashion world including Grayson Perry, Twiggy,
Ron Arad,Billie JD Porter,Claudia Winkleman,Rachel Johnson,Norman Lamont,Leon Max,
Patrick Cox , Brix Smith-Start, Suzy Menkez and Alan Edwards.
At 9.15pm we had a live act for 30 mins in front of the water...NAO...
NAO is a British singer-songwriter and record producer from East London. Her sound has been described as soul combined with electronic music, funk and R&B....Nao coined the term 'wonky funk' to describe her style.
Her debut album came out on RCA last year and went to number 17 in the UK charts.
She played some cool laid back tunes including 'Zillionaire'.
A great event.

Tuesday 20 June 2017...I went to two events tonight...
6.30pm to 9pm
CARLY PAOLI - album launch party - at BAFTA, 195 Piccadilly,London W1.
We are here at the headquarters for British Film.
Carly Paoli aged 28 is a classically trained singer/lyricist born in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.
After leaving college she performed in concerts and for corporate events. Performing at an event in Malaysia, she was spotted by the Geneva watchmaker Bedat & Co. In 2014, she was appointed as brand ambassador for the company and, as a direct result, appeared at the David Foster Foundation Miracle Gala.
In November 2014, Paoli made history as the first artist to perform at the International Women's Media Foundation (IWMF) Awards in Los Angeles, hosted by Hollywood actresses Olivia Wilde and Kate Hudson.
In June 2015, Paoli sang a duet with Three Tenors legend José Carreras in a unique performance at
Windsor Castle, for HRH The Prince of Wales.
Paoli’s song, ‘Ave Maria’ composed by Romano Musumarra with lyrics by Grant Black, was played on Vatican radio as the theme for Pope Francis' Jubilee Year of Mercy in 2016.
In July 2016, Paoli was the headline singer in ‘Music for Mercy’, a concert staged in the historic, Roman Forum.
On 30 June 2017, Paoli will release her eagerly anticipated debut album ‘Singing My Dreams’.
Over 100 guests here including musical theatre group Collabro and baritone singer Rhydian.
At 7.20pm we go into the seated area as CARLY PAOLI performed several songs from her album
in a 40 mins set with over a dozen musicians.
The album is a mixture of classic and classical pieces. Some compositions have lyrics penned by Paoli, including ‘Memory of You’ (Theme from ‘Legends of the Fall’) with music by multi Academy Award winner composer James Horner and ‘Se tu Fossi’ (Cinema Paradiso) by Ennio Morricone and Andrea Morricone.
Carly has a stunning voice as she can reach the high notes yet somehow keep her winning smile intact.
The set finished with a great version of her fave track from her album 'One Bright Star'.
Guests were given a copy of the album.
Complimentary wines, beers and canapés for all guests.
Once Carly gets on tv a couple of times I think she will take off big time.
Carly is supporting Collabro on an extensive UK tour later in the year which includes a show at
The London Palladium on Thurs 16 Nov.

10pm to 12.30pm
JIM STEINMAN'S BAT OUT OF HELL - VIP/press opening night party - at
The Institute of Directors,116 Pall Mall,London SW1.
Time flies - I went to the press launch for this event six months ago when they closed the road outside
The Coliseum to traffic as 60 or so Harley Davidson's revved up their bikes before Meat Loaf himself
gave a speech and the cast sung a few songs from the musical.
The musical was held earlier tonight at The Coliseum and it features the greatest hits of Meat Loaf.
We approach the venue which is all lit up in flames to look very impressive.
Over 500 guests here in this stunning venue which is an iconic landmark of London’s Georgian heritage.
The function rooms in this John Nash-designed Grade 1 listed building have huge ceilings and paintings everywhere.
Harvey Weinstein and Petula Clark were at the show but not at the after party.
Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason and his wife were here.
Also here were Tom Fletcher , Gary Kemp, Jimmy Carr, Dr Christian Jessen, Liz McClarnon, Ali Bastian, Lesley Garrett and Gizzi Erskine. Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood enthusiastically mounted a motorbike, used as a key motif in the new rock musical, with current and former co-stars from the BBC dance show, including Arlene Phillips, Bruno Tonioli, Rob Rinder, Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace-Mistry.
Also Faye Tozer, Lee Latchford-Evans, Lisa Scott-Lee, Richard Fleeshman, Jonathan Antoine and Danny-Boy Hatchard.
Also Sara Dallin from Bananarama and well known oldies dj and tv presenter Mike Read.
There was a covers band at the end of one of the rooms and a dj was playing tunes too.
