19 Sept 2011.

Day four of the six days of London Fashion Week.

7.30pm to 9.45pm i was at the launch of the new Nicole Fahri shop at 25 Conduit Street,London W1.

Nicole Fahri was here along with the likes of Pixie Lott and the djs were Sophie Ellis Bextor and her husband Richard Jones from The Feeling.Freebie champers,cocktails and canapes for all.

then

10.15pm to 11.15pm i was the launch of new fashion mag

Sheer at OneFourOne,Park Lane,London W1.

Aimed at fashion,photography,art and fashion for the younger crowd.The cover price of £7.50 seems steep but its out now in WH Smith etc.Freebie cocktails for all and a dj giving it a lively club feel.Got a couple of goodie bags with girlie products in.

17 Sept 2011.Today was day two of the six days of London Fashion Week.

7pm to 9pm i was at the launch of the new Fendi shop in Sloane Street,Knightsbridge,London.Lots of freebie champers and canapes here for the upmarket crowd here.

Noticed a security guard was guarding two handbags.I asked one of the girls "Are they special?.She replied "they are crocodile and cost £20,000 and £19,000".Yikes.

.....then 9.30pm to 11.30pm to The All Saints Clothing Party at One Marylebone,London NW1.Lots of freebie champers,cocktails and canapes here.Mani from Primal Scream was the dj.Some fashion folks here inc Nat Weller,Jodie Harsh and the Noisettes singer.Both parties were good events.

15 Sept 2011.Rimmel Party to celebrate ten years working with Kate Moss at Battersea Power Station,London SW11.
This was a big party with freebie booze and food for over 500 people.Kate Moss arrived by helicopter.I had a nice chat with Mick Jones(Clash and B.A.D).The Noisettes played a lively 45 mins of their best tunes.A really good event.Beyonces sister Solange Knowles was the dj.

This week sees the 35th anniversary of The 100 Punk Rock Festival at The 100 Club.I was there in 1976 to see Sex Pistols,Clash and Siouxsie And The Banshees with a certain Sid Vicious on drums.Hanging at the back of The 100 Club now is a picture with me near Steve Jones from the gig.

21 Sept 2011.I went to three events today.First was noon to 4pm at Square Meal Events And Venues showcase at Old Billingsgate,EC3.Over 100 of Londons top venues promoting their venues for hospitality use etc.

They gave us a free lunch and most stands were giving out freebie drinks and bits n pieces

then 6pm to 8pm was the Aramis party at W Hotel,Wardour Street,London W1.This was to launch their latest poster campaign.Lots of freebie Moet champers,quality cocktails and canapes.I got a couple of nice goodie bags with full size bottles of Aramis.A really good event.









then 9pm was Avril Lavigne live at Hammersmith Apollo,London.Avril has been a bit quiet in the UK for a while since the worldwide success of her 2002 album "Let Go" which sold over 16 million copies.She came on late at 9.40pm for her shortish 80 mins set.She is promoting her recent album "Goodbye Lullaby".Lots of screaming females in the packed venue.As expected its catchy lightweight pop punk.Set inc "Sk8ter Boy","When Youre Gone",a cover of Coldplays "Fix You","Girlfriend","Im With You".Her voice started playing up during the encore "Complicated" so i think the set was cut by two or three songs.A good gig.








20 Sept 2011.I went to three events today.First was 6.30pm to 7.30pm for The Lapada Art And Antiques Fair preview at Berkeley Square,London W1.Over 100 top quality sellers here.Some of the antique furniture is in stunning condition for its age.Freebie champers flowing for all.See www.lapadalondon.com

then 8pm to 9.45pm i was at the 20th anniversary of The Halkin Hotel,Halkin Street,London SW1.Super nice 5 star luxury boutique hotel just a stones throw from Buckingham Palace and Hyde Park Corner in Belgravia.UK soul singer Alice Russell did a good 30 mins set.Lots of lovely free drinks and food going inc oysters and king prawns in marinated coconut.Thai based cuisine.Really fantastic hotel.The very attentive staff really looked after everyone.See www.halkin.como.bz/ for more info.

then 10pm to 11.30pm i went see Jessie J at The Blackberry Collection party at Sketch,London W1.Very hot and sweaty in here so not sure what happened to the air con.A few celebs in the corner inc Wretch 32,Tynchy Stryder,Jo Whiley and some of the TOWIE gang.Jessie J on stage for 50 mins.Lots of chat inbetween the songs again like the event i was at a couple of weeks ago.Set inc

"Do It Like A Dude","Domino","Stand Up","Whos Laughing Now?","Nobodys Perfect" and "Price Tag".Good stuff.Free booze was still flowing here too.

22 Sept 2011.
I went to two events tonight.
First was 7.30pm to 9.30pm for the 21st birthday of Vintage Books at Ognisko Restaurant,55 Exhibition Road,London SW7.A massive party in this elegant listed building for over 300 people with connections to Random House Publishing.Lots of their authors here and a nice surprise to see Pink Floyds David Gilmour.Free
champers,beers,wines and shots here for all.
Lots of yummy food inc buckets of oysters.
Everyone got a goodie bag of a couple of books from the Vintage Collection.
then
10pm to 11.30pm was the relaunch of The Cuckoo Club,Swallow Street,London W1.A few years ago this was one of the hottest clubs in London but it has gone off the radar a bit with places like Mahiki getting their teeth into the posh young crowd.I even saw Guns And Roses play a secret gig here that started at 4.30am.It only holds 200.
I chatted to an up and coming singer called Georgie Rose who has an impressive self financed video up on youtube called "Live In The Moment".
No celebs here as such but a friend said Princess Beatrice turned up after midnight.A lively party crowd with free cocktails and fish and chips for all.

16 Sept and 18 Sept 2011.Brian Wilson live at The Royal Festival Hall,London.I went to two of Brians three shows here.On stage for 2 hours 30 mins over two sets.The first set was 45 mins of his recent album "Brian Wilson Reimagines Gershwin" and the second set was 1 hour 45 mins with loads of Beach Boys gems.Tracks played inc
"California Girls","I Get Around","Sail On Sailor","Pet Sounds","Sloop John B","Wouldn't It Be Nice" and mega versions of "God Only Knows" and "Good Vibrations".
Encores inc "Help Me Rhonda","Barbara Ann","Surfing USA","Fun Fun Fun" and a magical "Love And Mercy".Brian is a bit doddery because of his drugs past but his fantastic band really help him out.Great gigs.See aftershow page for the Sunday show

Lenny Kravitz live at The Box,Soho,London.
A tiny invite only club gig for just 250 people made up of Absolute Radio comp winers and VIP guests inc Gwyneth Paltrow.
Eight songs in 55 mins on stage.Excellent funk rock.
Set was "Come On Get It","It Aint Over Till Its Over",
"Mr Cab Driver","Black And White America","Always On The Run","Fly Away","Are You Gonna Go My Way" and encore of
"Let Love Rule".A great show.
Free booze all night too .Beer and wine before the gig and cocktails afterwards.

26 Sept 2011.I went to three events tonight.
First was 6.45pm to 7.45pm for The Legacy List Auction Of Customised Bicycle Helmets By Leading Comtempory Artists at The Four Seasons Hotel,London W1.Mayor Of London Boris Johnson gave an entertaining speech.Lots of freebie Pommery champers,Russian Standard Vodka Cocktails and canapes for all.I had to leave midway through the auction to get to the gig on time.

Echo And The Bunnymen live at The London Palladium, London W1.Always nice to be at this famous venue.For tonight the band will be joined by a six member string section.On stage for two hours over two sets.Ian McCulloch as supercool as ever with his parka type jacket and shades.The band and string section sound great together.First set inc gems like "Never Stop",
"Bring On The Dancing Horses" and "Rescue".The second half was their 1984 album "Ocean Rain" in full with great tracks like "The Killing Moon" and "Seven Seas".
Great encores of "Nothing Ever Lasts Forever","Lips Like Sugar" and "The Cutter".A very enjoyable show.

11.30pm to 1am i was at the afterparty for The Inside Soap Magazine Awards at Gilgamesh,Camden,London NW1.
All the UKs tv soap shows are represented here.Some of the actors have left and some are still on the dancefloor.The freebie cocktails,beers and wines are still flowing.I got a couple of nice bulky goodie bags on the way out.

27 Sept 2011.I went to two good events tonight.
First was 6.45pm to 9pm for the launch of

Around 500 people at the party which was held a few mins from the venue at Baltic,74 Blackfriars Road,London SE1.
Lots of freebie cocktails and quality wines for all.
Lots of lovely food as well.BBC presenter Andrew Marr was here.Sadly Old Vic Artistic Director Kevin Spacey was in Spain so could not be here.A nice party.

28 Sept 2011.I went to two good events tonight.
6.45pm to 8.30pm i was at the launch of Dr Martin Polleys latest book 'The British Olympics: Britainís Olympic Heritage 1612 - 2012'. at The German Gymnasium,26 Pancras Road,London NW1.Lovely historic venue that dates back nearly 150 years and still retains many original features.
The book charts the fascinating story of Britainís relationship with the Games. As London prepares to be the first city in the world to stage the modern Olympic games for the third time, Polley reveals that the 2012 Games will also mark the 400th anniversary of the first ever Olympic Games to be staged on Brithish Soil.
The author and other speakers gave an informative and entertaining set of speeches to match the film slides.

then on the tube to see The Wombats live at Brixton Academy,London.Boy was i looking forward to this gig.The Wombats were one of those indie pop bands that had two or three great songs and then they bring out their stunning second album "This Modern Glitch" which is fast becoming one of my fave albums of the year.Superbly produced and full of catchy indie pop with great singalong lyrics.The track "Techno Fan" is my song of the past summer.I cannot stop singing it.
The sold out out crowd were dancing non stop for the entire 90 mins show.The set featured the best tracks from the two albums inc "Our Perfect Disease","Jump Into The Fog", a brilliant "Techno Fan" complete with lasers.
"Last Night I Dreamt","1996","Moving To New York",
"Tokyo" and great encores of "Anti-D","Walking Disasters" and Lets Dance To Joy Division".I loved it.
