Rapper Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp A Butterfly has been named critics’ best album of the year in a new BBC poll.
The Grammy-nominated release beats Australian singer Courtney Barnett’s Sometimes I Sit and Think, and
Sometimes I Just Sit to the end-of-year title.
Folk star Father John Misty’s I Love You, Honeybear places third, while Jamie xx’s In Colour and rockers
Tame Impala’s Currents round out the top five.
Interestingly, Adele’s 25, the best-selling album of the year, only makes it to number 12.
The results are collated from 20 Album of the Year surveys published by industry experts at publications like
Billboard, Rolling Stone, and the NME.

Fri 25 Dec---Happy Birthday to Annie Lennox who is 61 on Christmas Day.
Fri 25 Dec---Happy Birthday to Shane MacGowan who is 58 on Christmas Day.
Shane has just fixed his legendary bad teeth for a SKY Arts tv programme.
He lost his last tooth in 2008 after years of drink and drug abuse.
MacGowan had 28 dentures fitted alongside one gold tooth in a procedure which took nine hours. The work has already begun to affect the musician's diet, as his surgeon explains, and should also improve his singing ability: "There was a moving moment when someone gave Shane an apple to eat … something he hadn’t done in 20 years."
Sat 26 Dec---Happy Birthday to Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich who is 52 today.
24 December 2015.
Public Image Limited are to return to the UK in the summer of 2016.
This pretty much confirms that The Sex Pistols will not be playing any 40th anniversary shows.
Very unlikely they will sneak anything in at the end of 2016.
Saturday headliners Public Image Ltd. (PiL) lead the latest acts to be announced for the 9th Bearded Theory festival happening at Catton Hall, in Derbyshire on Bank Holiday weekend with music starting from
Thursday 26th to Sunday 29th May 2016.

More than 250 people have arrived for the funeral of a British man killed in the Paris terror attacks last month.
Nick Alexander, 35, of Colchester, Essex, was killed at the Bataclan concert hall where he was selling merchandise.
The funeral is taking place at St Andrew's Church in Weeley, which he had attended since he was a child and last visited a few weeks before he died.
He was one of 130 people killed in the attacks on 13 November.
His parents Barry and Sheelagh Alexander attended the funeral near their home in Weeley, along with his sister Zoe Alexander.
A charity tribute evening will be held at his local venue Colchester Arts Centre on 28 December 2015.
Monday 21 December 2015.
Ten million fans attempted to buy tickets to British singer Adele's north American tour as all 750,000 spots sold out within an hour. Ticketmaster admitted the company have never before experienced such a demand. Adele's 56-date tour, her first American tour in four years, starts in Saint Paul, Minnesota, in July, with dates in New York's Madison Square Garden.
All her eight shows at Londons 02 Arena also sold out pronto as is the rest of her UK and European Tour.
Sunday 20 December 2015.
Happy Birthday to ex KISS drummer Peter Criss who is 70 today.
Next summer in 2016 KISS will be coming to Europe to celebrate 40 years
since their first UK and European Tour in May 1976.
I was at both the London shows at Hammersmith Odeon back then.
The first night i was eight rows from the stage on the left.
The second night i was front row centre.
They have never come back to Hammersmith since.
I have reminded their UK booking agent and promoter about the dates.
Saturday 19 December 2015.
Very sad to hear of the death of Jimmy Hill who i watched on tv so often back in the day.
Former Match of the Day presenter Jimmy Hill, one of English football's most influential figures,
died on Saturday at the age of 87.
As chairman of the Professional Footballers' Association, he led the campaign for the scrapping of
maximum wages for professional footballers.
He played 297 games for Fulham and was later manager and chairman at Coventry.
Hill - diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2008 - made more than 600 appearances as presenter of Match of the Day.
Friday 18 December 2015.
Def Leppard + Whitesnake + Black Star Riders live at Wembley Arena,London.
Def Leppard’s joint headline UK & Irish arena tour w/ Whitesnake and support from Black Star Riders.
This is the second from last show at the end of Def Leppards six month world tour.
I have seen both Def Leppard and Whitesnake over 20 times including a couple of times in 2008 when they
toured together in the UK where i attended the Wembley Arena show and the Liverpool Echo Arena show.
I also saw Def Leppard play a warm up club show for that tour at Islington Academy.
Def Leppard i first saw in 1979 supporting AC/DC at Hammersmith Odeon.
Def Leppard will be playing a few tracks in the set from their recent self-titled new album.
Whitesnake i first saw in 1978 when they headlined Hammersmith Odeon.
I saw David Coverdale in 1974 when he was singing with Deep Purple and Richie Blackmore was on guitar.
Whitesnake will be playing a few Deep Purple tracks in the set from their recent 'The Purple Album'.
Needless to say i was really looking forward to this great three band classic rock bill.
The show has been sold out a couple of months ago.
I get in early to see all three bands from floor standing area 10 rows from stage left.
Sex Pistol drummer Paul Cook is here as he is a regular at Def Leppard London shows as he is good mates
with Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen as they are in a band together called Man-Raze.
Black Star Riders play a really good 40 mins set.
Their own material sounds very like their Thin Lizzy material.
You feel a bit sorry for Scott Gorham as if Phil Lynott was still alive they would probably be
headlining arenas in the UK rather than being the first band on out of three.
Full Black Star Riders setlist played tonight...
All Hell Breaks Loose
Are You Ready(Thin Lizzy cover)
The Killer Instinct
Jailbreak(Thin Lizzy cover)
Bound for Glory
Whiskey in the Jar([traditional] cover)
Tonight was billed as a co-headline tour and it pretty much was that.
Both the headliners played for around 85 mins each and they both had use of the fantastic stage production
with big screens at the side showing live footage,a huge screen in the middle showing pre-recorded images
and loads of lights.
David Coverdale still looks like a proper rock star.
A few of his classic song intro line 'Here's One For Ya' that he has been doing forever.
He dedicated 'Ain't No Love In The Heart Of The City' to Hammersmith Odeon which he said had a
"dear place in my heart".
I worked front stage security at Hammersmith Odeon for all four shows on each of the 1981 and 1983 tours.
The famous Hammersmith choir would sing the song at the top of their voices....great shows...
Hammersmith Odeon was David Coverdales second home in the 1980s.
Legendary drummer Tommy Aldridge performed a nice drum solo.
A perfect mix of songs from David Coverdales career played tonight made for a great show.
Full Whitesnake setlist played tonight...

Love Ain't No Stranger
The Gypsy(Deep Purple cover)
Give Me All Your Love

Def Leppard as usual create their big production sound on record to the live stage.
Guitarist Phil Collen is shirtless from the start as he displays his toned body.
Guitarist Viv Campbell looks healthy despite his cancer troubles.
Special applause of course from the crowd for drummer Rick Allen when introduced.
He had his left arm amputated a car crash on 31 Dec 1984.
They made a special drum kit to help him and it has worked a treat ever since.
A few new album tracks were mixed in with their mega singalong anthems.
A great show.

Le Coq Sportif x Footpatrol R800 launch party at Joyeux Bordel,147 Curtain Road,London EC2.
Nice to be back at this cool and plush basement bar in trendy Shoreditch.
I went to the opening launch event for it aound a year ago.
Around 60 or 70 mainly younger folks here with a dj playing tunes in the background.
Complimentary drinks with two very nice different cocktails and beers flowing.
Footpatrol are teaming up with French Sportswear brand le coq sportif for a third time on this special
'Made in France' edition of the R800.
Since introducing the 'Made in France' footwear program at the start of 2015, le coq sportif began working with a small factory based in Cléon, in a small village named La Romagne. Since then, the tri-color brand have re-established and celebrated its' rich heritage and history in local manufacturing through a series of premium collaborations utilizing iconic models from the LCS archive. Next up is the R800, originally released in 1991 and featuring le coq sportif's infamous Dynactif energy return system.
Having the opportunity in creating a shoe made in France, they wanted to pay tribute the skilled craftsmen/craftswomen who continue to keep a dwindling practice in Western Europe alive. The word 'Artisan' is used to describe a worker in a skilled trade, expecially one that involves making things by hand. This became the inspiration for our concept, and so the Footpatrol x Le Coq Sportif R800 'Artisan' was born...

Funds from the sale of this vehicle will go to Land Rover supported charities, International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the Born Free Foundation.
Bernard Fowlers Allstars + The Strypes live at The Scala,Kings Cross,London.
This gig was number 6400 since 1973 for me.
Tonight was a benefit evening for Project-0 Wave Makers Marine Conservation.
Up until a few days ago all the adverts for this gig had it as The Strypes plus special guests but then the
special guests got bigger and they have become the main act and The Strypes have been relegated to support act.
It felt like a secret gig as they was no mention of this in advance at all unless you knew a member of the main band.
The Strypes are on from 8.25pm for a 35 mins set.
These teenagers i saw a couple of years ago just before they got signed.
Really good uptempo rock n roll tunes with vocals that sound like The Arctic Monkeys.
I would say only 25% at most of the crowd are Rolling Stones fans.
We get a great second row view on the left as the youngsters stayed at the back.
Bernard Fowlers Allstars are introduced by supermodel Cara Delevingne who was here with
St Vincent and Georgia May Jagger.
James Jagger was also here.
Ronnie Woods wife was here as was his ex wife Jo Wood and their kids Leah and Tyrone.
Keith Richards wife Patti Hansen was here as was their daughter Alexandra.
No doubt many of them are here for the Mick Jagger Christmas Party on Friday.
The main band are on from 9.35pm for a 90 mins set.
The event was a bit like The Jack Bruce tribute concert I saw a couple of months ago where
there are lots of musicians coming and going on stage so we have two drummers, two bass players,
two guitarists, keyboards player, three piece brass section, three backing vocalists.
Sex Pistol Glen Matlock is the bass player for most songs.
The other bass player is Doug Wimbish from Living Colour and other bands.
Leah Wood sang the first song.
Bernard Fowler is the singer from the second song onwards.
He says 'we have only had two days rehearsals '.
Bernard has a great stage presence and a great voice.
For those of you who do not know Bernard is one of the backing vocalists for The Rolling Stones.
He has been with them for over 25 years.
Folks on stage tonight included...
Mick Taylor---2 songs
Ronnie Wood---3 songs
There were half a dozen cameras filming all through the evening.
A lot of cover songs as expected but the setlist was sometimes a big vague to me.
A few of the songs are on Bernard Fowlers solo album.
Song highlight for me was a stunning version of The Faces 'Stay With Me' where Glen Matlock
sneaked in the 'Pretty Vacant' riff during an instrumental section.
Needless to say a great one off event.
2.Take Me To The River---cover.
3.War--Bob Marley cover
4.Shake It---on Bernard's solo album.
5.The Letter---cover that is on Bernard's album.
6.Dragon Attack---Queen cover that is on Bernard's solo album.
7.Hoochie Coochie Man---Muddy Waters cover with Mick Taylor on guitar.
8.I Don't Need No Doctor---Ray Charles cover with Mick Taylor on guitar.
9.I Gotta See---Rolling Stones cover with Ronnie Wood on guitar.
10.She's My Baby???---Ronnie Wood on guitar and lead vocals.
11.Stay With Me---The Faces cover with Ronnie Wood on guitar.
13.Just Kissed My Baby---Meters cover.
Visit www.dailymail.co.uk for some nice photos of the event including a great one with
Ronnie Wood and Glen Matlock.

Theresa May and Iain Duncan Smith.
Piers Morgan is here as well as BBC tv Politics Show presenter Andrew Neil.
We are greeted by a choir singing Christmas carols and a glass of mulled wine.

Kylie Minogue live at The Royal Albert Hall,London.
A one off show by Kylie playing hits, recent album tracks and Christmas classics.
'Kylie Christmas' is the thirteenth studio album. It was released on 13 November 2015 by Parlophone.
A Christmas music album consisting thirteen songs and three bonus tracks.
'Kylie Christmas' contains both cover versions and original songs.
It is totally rammed sold out tonight with a great party atmosphere.
As usual with Kylie shows there are loads of gay men in the audience.
On all the seats is a free red and white Christmas cloth hat for everyone to wear.
The merch stands are selling special t-shirts and programmes with tonight's event.
I have seen Kylie many times before as her arena shows are stunning to watch.
Tonight it is still a massive production as we have a huge orchestra the whole evening and for some songs
we have a choir and eight M/F dancers.
There are neon lighting strips on the stage and all around the venue.
There must have been a small army of folks working on this show behind the scenes.
For the second half there is a giant disco ball along with balloons and fake snow at the end.
There are no big screens but there are cameras so it will come out on DVD or as a tv special.
Kylie is now aged for 47 and looks stunning...a real pop princess...Cinderella even...
Kylie has 6 or 7 change of outfits which all looked incredible and her dancers also had many costume chances.
A nice long show that lasts for 2 hours 15 mins over two sets of 50 mins and 85 mins.
Chrissie Hynde and Kylie's sister Dannii came on for a couple of songs.
Kylie said it was her first time playing live at this famous venue.
Kylie is chatty and flirty throughout the show.

Bar Eight---press launch party at Bar Eight,8 Mount Street,Mayfair,London W1.
On the ground floor there is a new 78 cover restaurant.
However it is not just a restaurant, oh no, because beneath it lies Bar 8 an exclusive bar which has all the feel and air of a private members club but without the need for a membership –thankfully. A unique triangle bar will take centre stage and will be surrounded by green leather and white marble. It’ll serve a mix of classic cockails and house specialities including Jade a mix of Japanese green tea infused Sipsmith gin, Sauvignon blanc syrup, egg white and lime juice. For now it is just serving drinks but in the New Year a bar menu will join it too.
So if you’re looking for a place to have your well-earned post-Christmas shopping drink/ refuel then escape the scrum that is Oxford Street at Christmas (read all year round) and head to Mount Street.
Tonight there were eight different cocktails on offer and i had five of them.
My fave would have to be The Social Smoker---( Woodford Reserve Bourbon Whisky).
The cocktails are priced £12 and £13 each.
The staff all made a fuss of us and the bar staff did a great job of explaining the drinks.
It is quite a small space that maybe only holds 30 or 40 people.
A great location in one of the premier streets in Mayfair.
www.8mountstreet.comVisit the Bar Eight website here for more info.

Tuesday 08 December 2015.
Duran Duran + Seal live at The 02 Arena,London.
Duran Duran are on a UK arena tour to promote their recent album 'Paper Gods'.
They have had 30 Top 40 hits in the UK.
I have seen Duran Duran around 20 over their career.
Including Duran Duran 3 times in 1981 and 6 times in 1982...all at Hammersmith Odeon.
Their 1982 shows were on the back of the success of the hits from their second album 'Rio'.
This was the height of Duranmania with screaming girls galore.
Every night 30 mins after the show the band would leave the venue
with a police escort and as security we would have to keep the girls away from the cars.
John Taylor from Duran Duran was in a great band called Neurotic Outsiders with Sex Pistol Steve Jones.
They made a brilliant album in the mid 1990s and i saw one of their rare shows at the time.
Seal is promoting his recent album 'Seven'.
Seal has had 10 Top 40 hits in the UK.
The venue is totally rammed full tonight.
Lots of family and friends have laminate passes here so no doubt a big gathering after the show.
I spotted ITV Breakfast Show host Susanna Reid here.
Special guest support act Seal is on stage for around 45 mins.
He does a good show that included his big hits.
Full setlist played tonight...
Every Time I'm With You
Kiss From a Rose
Life On the Dance Floor
Duran Duran are on stage for around 1 hour 40 mins.
A nice arena production with big screens, loads of lights and flame columns.
Simon Le Bon is now aged 57 but like the rest of the band still look good.
They still have four original members and have two backing singers/dancers with them.
John Taylor still gets most of the screams from the hordes of middle aged women here.
Simon Le Bon is not the best singer but he does a great job of being a front man.
American actress Lindsay Lohan and Mr Hudson joined in with them a couple of times.
Some big hits were played at the start then a few new tunes in the middle section.
They dedicated 'Save A Prayer' to Paris---Eagles Of Death Metal play the song in their show.
EODM had just played the song at Bataclan and a few minutes later the shootings started.
Versions of 'Planet Earth','Girls On Film' and 'Rio' were mega.
A great show.

John Lennon was murdered in New York on December 8, 1980. Since then 1.1 million more people have been shot dead in America. Lennon’s death stunned the world but it did not change America, a nation that claims to believe in God but murders more of its citizens than any other nation on Earth.
Monday 07 December 2015...7.30pm to 9.30pm...
Metro's Guilty Pleasures Christmas Party at Mews of Mayfair, 10 Lancashire Court, off New Bond Street, London, W1.

It has a massive circulation with around 1.3 million copies printed each day.
Guilty Pleasures is their section of four pages daily on music and entertainment.
Around a dozen photographers are outside the venue waiting for celebs.
Around 150 folks in the downstairs area of this restaurant & bar.
Guests here included The Vamps,Stooshe,Jack Pack and Mark Wright.
We have a drag trio performing a fun routine of 'Vogue' by Madonna.
There is a dj playing some pop and disco tunes.
A nice buzzy chatty atmosphere here.
Complimentary drinks and canapés including two different Ciroc vodka cocktails, wines and beers.
I left when the freebie cocktails had finished but it was still lively when I departed.
Sunday 06 December 2015.
The Waterboys live at Hammersmith Apollo,London.
This is the last show on their World Tour that has lasted all of this year.
To be precise it is show number 108...wow...
They played The Roundhouse earlier in the year to loads of great reviews.
They are promoting their album 'Modern Blues' which was recorded in Nashville.
I first saw The Waterboys in 1984 as a support band to U2 at Brixton Academy.
They released one of the best singles of the 1980s in 1985 with 'The Whole of the Moon'.
I also saw Mike Scott's pre-Waterboys band Another Pretty Face a couple of times in 1980.
The Waterboys take to the stage at 8.30pm for a nice long 2 hours 5 mins set.
Mike Scott will be 57 in a weeks time but still looks the same as ever.
He has assembled a top notch band from London,Dublin and America.
The bass player is David Hood from the legendary Muscle Shoals Studio band.
When the guitar, keyboards and electric fiddle all rock out together it's superb stuff.
Mike is a great storyteller with his superb lyrics.
Loads of great songs played including a brilliant 'The Whole of the Moon'.
The seated stalls folks were all up and dancing for the last 30 mins.
The final song had lyrics written just for tonight as Mike ran through some cities
and events that have happened to them on this tour.
A great show.
Full setlist played tonight...

Prodigy + Public Enemy live at Wembley Arena,London.
Prodigy play the second of two shows at Wembley Arena.
It is the last show on their current UK and European Tour.
They played another UK tour just six months ago which included two nights at Alexandra Palace.
They are promoting 'The Day Is My Enemy' which is their sixth studio album---released March 2015.
Prodigy are a fantastic live band who really put on a full throttle show.
I first saw Prodigy in 1997 when they played Battersea Power Station.
Support comes from hip hop/rap legends Public Enemy who i first saw in 1987.
Lots of police and security outside and inside the venue for this gig.
Most of the crowd are in early to catch Public Enemy.
Public Enemy were on stage for around 60 mins.
Great to see Chuck D,Flavor Flav and the gang again.
They are given use of the two big screens.
They sounded great and played all their best tunes.

During the interval the houselights remain off as the dj plays some great rave/dance tunes.
Prodigy arrived on stage at 9.25pm and played an 85 mins set.
An impressive stage production with a massive dazzling light show.
The communal euphoria here is amazing with the entire crowd up and dancing all night.
Prodigy attract a crowd that likes to get pissed up and the bars are doing a roaring trade.
Singers MC Maxim and Keith Flint are fearsome front men as they work the crowd.
Heavily compressed beats, squealing scratchy guitars and classic rave synths provide an
energetic dance rock noise that only Prodigy can provide.
The new album songs mix in well with the older gems.
Watching Prodigy live really sends tingles down your spine as this is how you put a show on.
An excellent evening.
I saw both the Appleton sisters here dancing wildly.
They were in all girl band All Saints.
One of them is married to Liam from Prodigy and one is the ex wife of Liam Gallagher.

Friday 04 December 2015...another sad death to report...
Scott Weiland, former frontman of the US rock band Stone Temple Pilots, has died at the age of 48.
The singer's manager, Tom Vitorino, confirmed his death on Thursday night.
A statement, on Instagram, said Weiland had "passed away in his sleep while on a tour stop in Bloomington, Minnesota, with his band The Wildabouts".
Weiland had a history of drug problems. He formed the Grammy-winning band Stone Temple Pilots, and was a member of supergroup Velvet Revolver.
I saw Velvet Revolver live a few times.
I have a signed poster of all the band from one of their Hammersmith Apollo shows.
Thursday 03 December 2015...I went to three events tonight...
6.45pm to 8pm.

Ronnie Spector live at The Barbican,London EC2.
Ronnie Spector now aged 72 was lead singer of the R&B/Pop girl group, the Ronettes which had a string of hits in the 1960s. She has been called the original "bad girl of rock and roll".
The Ronettes have been inducted to The Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame.
Ronnie was married to legendary record producer Phil Spector from 1968 to 1974.
I saw her play a really good show at The Queen Elizabeth Hall around 18 months ago.
Ronnie Spector and band arrived on stage tonight at 8.30pm for an 80 mins set.
Ronnie is looking great for her age and has her trademark big hair.
She has three female backing singers dressed and looking just like The Ronettes were in the 1960s.
Ronnie is telling great stories from the 1960s between songs and there is a screen showing
old videos and photos from her 60s heyday.
There was a great example of the odd venues bands had to play in the 1960s.
The Ronettes played shows with The Rolling Stones in 1964 and one of the gig posters was
The Granada, Shrewsbury....yes The Rolling Stones played Shrewsbury...hard to believe.
'Time On My Side' was dedicated to The Rolling Stones.
A brilliant version of Johnny Thunders 'You Can't Out Your Arms Around A Memory'.
The crowd are up and dancing for the encores.
There’s no mention of Spector’s ex-husband Phil, currently serving a life sentence for murder, but having long fled his clutches she’s finally reminding the world that Ronnie Spector is a legend too.
A great show.

Statoil Masters Tennis Players Party at The Jumeirah Carlton Tower Hotel,Knightsbridge,London SW1.
This tennis event is held this week at The Royal Albert Hall for senior tennis players.
I went to this party last year but tonight they are using a different room.
It's another small room with a small guest list.
The main reason i am here is to see tennis legend John McEnro.
John turns up in his trademark baseball cap that he uses to keep a low profile.
Others here included Tim Henman,Sebastian Grosjean,Henri Laconte and Matts Wilander.
Complimentary Lanson champers and canapés for all guests.
Last year i left at midnight but this year i left a bit earlier as whacked out from the champers before the
gig earlier which turned out not to be a good idea as I missed something here.
I saw some instruments set up.
I presumed it would be a jazz trio like like last year but i found out that John McEnro
joined them for one or two songs tonight with his guitar so sadly missed that.
Thursday 03 December 2015.
The Faces keyboard player Ian McLagan sadly died a year ago today.
Wednesday 02 December 2015...7pm to 9pm...
Press launch for Mimosa Basement Bar,86 Fulham Road,Chelsea,London SW3.
This cool new basement bar is just a few mins walk from South Kensington tube station.
Upstairs is the main dining area that has been open for some time.
Around 50 folks in the downstairs bar tonight with the dj playing some tunes.
The extensive cocktail list has over 20 drinks on it but tonight we sample two through the evening.
The Negroni and The Coriander Martini which both went down a treat.
The bar snacks were very yummy with my faves being the Crispy battered chicken and
the Chinese holi-sin chicken spring roll.
It's well worth a visit in the run up to Christmas.
One part glam, one part glitz and one part mixologist’s fantasy, Mimosa is set to become an irresistible mix that will reinforce it as one of West London’s go-to destinations. Already a prodigious bar and restaurant, Mimosa is stepping things up a level — or below rather — and opening up their very own basement club.
Located on the lower ground level of this magnificent three-storey Georgian townhouse, the new venue will be charged with chic, class and pure sophistication: a sure-fire spotting ground for Chelsea’s glitterati. Mimosa will combine the best sounds and visuals with the cream of house and techno DJs, led by the brilliant AudioLung. With the addition of the state-of-the-art Funktion One sound system, we’ve no doubt the club will be a top-choice for us shrewd carousers.
And let’s be honest —after a few cocktails and a nice dinner, no one really wants to utter those words of “where to next?” Pre-dancing, most revellers will be up at the showy bar: with its mirrored backdrop setting the scene for the stirrers and shakers of your “Papa Doble” cocktail. Low level antique tables and sumptuously upholstered seating further add to this stylish and opulent ambience — evidently, Mimosa isn’t shunning its postcode’s reputation.

Judas Priest + Michael Schenker Temple Of Rock live at Brixton Academy,London.
Classic rock legends Judas Priest play the London show on their UK and European Tour.
I have seen Judas Priest around 25 times since 1977.
I saw them supporting KISS in Chicago in 1979.
Support is Michael Schenker.
Michael Schenker was just a teenager when he left the Scorpions and joined UFO. A few years later, inner band turmoil saw him form the Michael Schenker Group and walk away from UFO. Schenker has never stayed in one place long. He has had a career filled with ecstasy, excess, triumph and tragedy.
I first saw UFO in 1976 and many times after that.
I first saw The Scorpions in 1978 and many times after that.
Another great pair of classic rock bands on the same bill from promoters Live Nation.
Most of the crowd are in early to see German guitar legend Michael Schenker.
Even rock photographer Ross Halfin is here early to catch him.
Michael Schenker Temple Of Rock arrive on stage at 7.40pm and play a 45 mins set.
Micheal is playing his trademark Flying V with a big smile on his face.
He plays a great set mixing solo material with gems from his previous bands.
Full setlist played tonight...
Doctor Doctor(UFO song)
Live and Let Live
Victim of Illusion(Michael Schenker Group song)
Lord of the Lost and Lonely
Rock You Like a Hurricane(Scorpions song)
Rock Bottom(UFO song) with extended guitar solo in the middle.
AC/DC tracks only played over the pa during the entire interval.
Intro track was Black Sabbath War Pigs with all the crowd singing loudly along.
Judas Priest arrive on stage at 9pm and play a 1 hour 40 mins set.
They have a fantastic stage production with loads of lights and a big screen and small screens
that featured images including album covers and a little bit of live footage.
The sound was nice and loud with the twin guitars riffing away.
Rob Halford is still wearing different long heavy coats that all looked a bit naff.
A brilliant show and a great pair of classic rock bands on stage tonight.
Full setlist played tonight...
Victim of Changes
Halls of Valhalla
Redeemer of Souls
Beyond the Realms of Death
Screaming for Vengeance
Breaking the Law
Hell Bent for Leather...with Rob Halford on a motorcycle.

Glenn Tipton and Richie Faulkner the two guitarists from Judas Priest are here
and are friendly and chatty to all.
The rest of the band stay in the inner sanctum of the dressing rooms area.
It was still going when I left to get my connections back to West London.

Happy Birthday to Billy Idol who is 60 today.
28 November 2015.
Ronnie Wood on TFI Friday Channel 4 tv show Friday with a Saturday repeat.
This show always has some good music acts and wacky entertainment.
Ronnie Wood was a guest on the show promoting his recently released book.
Also they got him involved in a neat art stunt as Ronnie likes to paint.
Basically Ronnie fired paint guns over 100 members of the audience who were below him
holding open white umbrellas and the result would mean they would all have an umbrella
splashed by Ronnie Wood and as such they could keep a Ronnie Wood piece of art.
Ronnie said he would sign them all but not sure if he actually did that.
Friday 27 November 2015.
One Night Of Queen live at The Beck Theatre,Hayes,Middlesex.
Performed by Gary Mullen & The Works.
Such is the popularity of Queen these days that even a tribute act can sell out a
600 capacity venue like this one.
A two hour show over two sets of an hour each.
The Freddie Mercury is a great lookalike and soundalike.
All the Queen classics were played tonight.
The band sounded great and the light show was good.
An enjoyable show.
40 years ago this week i saw Queen play all four of their Hammersmith Odeon shows.
