Queens speech Sunday at 8pm---The 93-year-old monarch gave a powerful, moving speech in which she praised NHS and care workers for their critical work - and also thanked all those who were sticking to government measures and staying at home.
They showed similar black & white footage of a speech she made back in 1940, yes 1940.
As Princess Elizabeth, The Queen made her first public speech on 13 October 1940, with a radio address to the children of the Commonwealth, many of them living away from home due to war. Her younger sister, Princess Margaret, joined in at the end.
As everyone is indoors isolating, The Queens speech on Sunday had a staggering 24 million watching.
Figures from across a number of different channels, all of which were broadcasting the speech, show a combined total of 24 million viewers.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson's address on the 24th March was watched by just over 27 million.
The viewing figures make the Queen's speech the ninth most watched programme ever on British TV.

Bond Girl HONOR BLACKMAN, best known as Pussy Galore in Goldfinger, has died aged 94.
In a statement to the Guardian, her family said: “It’s with great sadness that we have to announce the death of Honor Blackman aged 94. She died peacefully of natural causes at her home in Lewes, Sussex, surrounded by her family.”
Blackman shot to fame as crimefighter Cathy Gale in the hit spy show The Avengers, alongside Patrick Macnee as John Steed. She played the role from 1962-1964.
In 1964 aged 38, she left Avengers to became one of the oldest “Bond girls”, playing Pussy Galore opposite Sean Connery in the third James Bond film.

A pair of classic Beatles albums were released today in 1973.
The Beatles were broken up for a little more than three years when the 1962-1966 and 1967-1970 compilations were released on April 2, 1973.
The two-disc sets – known as the Red and Blue albums, respectively – were neither supplements to nor replacements for the band’s other records. They were merely what they appeared to be: collections of great songs by a great band.
The albums were initially a reaction against a four-record bootleg compilation called Alpha Omega.
But most of all, 1962-1966 and 1967-1970 trimmed the little fat that could be found on the original LPs and gathered 54 of the band’s best songs – 28 on the former, 26 on the latter, all written by the Beatles – in one place.

Wednesday 01 April 2020.
Another great documentary that is well worth watching on BBC iPlayer.
Rock n Roll Island : Where Legends Were Born.
Award-winning documentary that celebrates the incredible musical history of Eel Pie Island - the epicentre of rhythm and blues in Twickenham , south west London in the 1960s.
Loads of legendary bands played here including The Rolling Stones, The Who, Kinks etc.
The bands had to get their equipment over a footbridge as it was the only entrance to the island.
One of the lesser known bands who played there were called STRAY.
They went to my old school Christopher Wren in Shepherds Bush.
They were a few years older than Sex Pistols Steve Jones & Paul Cook who also went there.

This documentary is well worth a watch on BBC iPlayer....AVICII : TRUE STORIES...
On the face of it , AVICII had the perfect life as a top dj as he played to huge crowds worldwide,
flew around in private jets and stayed in five star hotels & villas.
Avicii: True Stories is a 2017 documentary, directed by Levan Tsikurishvili, about the Swedish DJ and record producer Avicii, with special appearances by David Guetta, Wyclef Jean, Nile Rodgers, Tiësto and Chris Martin. Avicii: True Stories premiered on October 26, 2017 in selected cinemas worldwide and was released on Netflix in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia on 28 December 2018.
Avicii: True Stories is Tim Bergling's own story, told from the inside and made from his extensive personal and family archive and behind-the-scenes footage. The director, Levan Tsikurishvili, followed Bergling for over four years while capturing footage of his experiences and thinking.
In the film you can feel the pressure of non-stop gigs & travel just burning him out and getting ill & depressed.
AVICII committed suicide soon after the film came out.
